Issue 20 – Constantly Evolving: Communication, Marketing, Design, and Education

In a world that is constantly changing, it is essential to pause and analyze how these transformations affect and reshape us. For this reason, Revista Abierta is launching its call for manuscript submissions for Issue 20, scheduled for publication in December of this year.

We invite faculty members, researchers, and professionals to submit articles or essays that explore the various ways in which communication, marketing, and design are evolving as disciplines, whether due to technological changes—such as the emergence of artificial intelligence—transformations in people's consumption habits and behaviors, or changes in education and in the ways we teach and learn.

Manuscripts may address any of the following thematic areas:

  1. Design Management and Impact
    Analyze the role of design as an agent of social change, addressing challenges through multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams to foster social innovation and sustainable development.
  2. Cultural Industries: Production of Traditional or Transmedia Discourses
    Study the structures, dynamics, and discourses of traditional and digital media, with an emphasis on their sociocultural impact and the symbolic production of cultural industries.
  3. Audience Studies and Media CompetenciesInvestigate audience practices, motivations, and media competencies in order to better understand their relationship with media and contribute to the development of more effective communication strategies.
  4. Communication, Design, and Education
    Examine teaching and learning processes in the fields of design and communication, with an emphasis on pedagogical innovation, professional competencies, and adaptation to contemporary educational contexts.
  5. Theory, Practice, and Management of Integrated Marketing Communications, Digital Strategies, and Strategic Design
    Explore approaches, methodologies, and applications of marketing communications, strategic design, and digital communication in social and commercial contexts.

Submission Guidelines
Authors must submit their articles or essays by August 10, 2026, to wcarballo@monicaherrera.edu.sv and eecontreras@monicaherrera.edu.sv. Submissions must comply with the requirements and adhere to the guidelines established by Revista Abierta on the Article Submission page. In addition, authors must provide their full names, institutional affiliation, and contact email address.
